Who is Taylor?

If I was asked to describe who I am, I would say I am the mom of two babies that are my whole world, the wife to my high school sweetheart, a big sister, and the daughter of two of the kindest altruistic people I have met in my life. I am a Jesus lover and an agriculture enthusiast, and when I am not at a session or editing, I am outdoors discovering the beauty of nature. I was homeschooled in a small town just outside of New Braunfels, TX. I grew up raising goats, sheep, chickens, cows, rabbits, and anything else that needed to be bottle raised. At the age of 8 I began participating in the Texas 4-H program. My time in 4-H shaped much of who I am. I learned the value of hard work and presenting the very best of whatever I put my hands to, from competing in livestock shows, public speaking, baking, fashion, and, of course, my first love, photography. The leadership skills I developed in that chapter of life shaped me into the small business owner I am today. With years of art lessons, dance classes, and travels across the U.S, I always had an adventurous and artistic spirit. It was easy to find a job that benefitted my want to help people and the creative itch in my brain.

I was raised by parents who always pushed me to follow any dream I had, big or small. Photography was not always on the list of careers planned. Originally, I had dreams of becoming an attorney, but when Covid brought me home from college, a different plan unfolded. Being a wife and mom was always the top of my desires for my life and God put all the pieces in place for that dream to take center stage. After our marriage and the birth of our son, we decided I would stay home and work on school at my own pace. During that time, a few friends asked if I could take photos for them, and before I knew it, photography became more than just a hobby—it became my career. Looking back, I know it is the one I was always suited for. In 2022, Momma Hen Snapshots was born. I started with family and couples sessions, then moved into senior portraits, engagements, and eventually weddings. After photographing my first wedding, I realized this is where I thrive. Capturing the details of each individual story brought out a creative side of me I hadn’t fully tapped into before. It felt natural, fulfilling, and right. On January 1st, 2025, I rebranded as Taylor August Creative, focusing on Lifestyle Photography, Couples, Weddings, and Creative Portraits. I believe everyone's story is unique. There is so much beauty in the fact God created not one of us alike. My job is to preserve those moments,

Why August?

Let me tell you about my two best friends, Axton and Abilene. My littles are my whole world, Everything I do is for them. I think my love from photography comes from my passion for my family. (The 11,000+ photos in my camera roll can prove that). Family means the most to me and I love being a mom. Now back to August. Taylor is my first name but August has a special meaning in our family. August is the month of the poppy. A poppy was one of my first photos taken for 4-H and the inso behind my logo. My Dad, Pa, & Axton were all born in August and Abileene's middle name is August. When choosing a name for my re-brand, I knew I wanted something that tied back to my families legacy. I went through 100+ name combinations, but Taylor August just felt right.

Our Approach.

Do you want a photographer who will party with you on the dance floor, laugh when you laugh, document the little things, pose the awkward moments, an be your bestie? I am your girl! I take my work seriously, but the great thing about creativity is the freedom to have fun with it. I want to preserve YOUR love story.

When you hire me, you are hiring an artist.

To me, the focus is on the details and emotions that create an unforgettable experience. It's all about those genuine moments – the loving smile from your mom as she zips your dress, the way your hands intertwine when you exchange vows, the happiness and thrill during couple photos, and the enchanting, fairy-tale scenes you've envisioned for years. Capturing these moments is what I truly cherish. Every glance, every touch, every shared laugh becomes a precious memory, immortalized in photographs that tell the story of your unique love. As a photographer, I am an artist. The lens is my paintbrush and with every snap of my shutter I'm adding my artistic touch to the canvas of your love story. Whether it's the soft glow of the golden hour or the joyful chaos of the dance floor, each click of the shutter is a testament to your journey together.

Every story is different and I believe that the beauty of a wedding lies in its authenticity – the candid expressions, the spontaneous hugs, the tears of joy. No wedding is alike, and I tailor my art to how you want it remembered, both unposed moments and creative direction. Years from now, when you look back at these images, my goal is that they transport you right back to the emotions and warmth of your special day, reminding you of the love and commitment you share.
